What kind of surface do you paint on ?

I love to paint on Crescent #300 Illustration Board. It is “pebbled’ at the factory. I have paintings that are more than 20 years old on this board and still look great. This board is very durable and versatile.

What brand of paint do you use ?

I use Mission Gold Brand watercolor paint.

What kind of brushes do you use ?

I use synthetic watercolor brushes. That is what I learned with and they are more than adequate. My main brushes are a #6 script liner, a #10 round, a 1” wash brush, and sometimes I use a 1” glaze brush.

Do you use anything besides the brushes previously listed ?

For special effects I like to carry a common toothbrush and a two types of sponges ( a kitchen sponge and a nylon sponge )

How long have you been painting ?

I have been painting with watercolor for about 25 years

How long have you been teaching ?

I have been teaching since 2007.
